Michael O’Halloran’s cinematic aspirations began at a very early age, mounting numerous productions throughout his early school years. He honed his skills as a filmmaker producing several short films in this time, many of which went on to win awards in national film competitions and festivals. His early success saw him accepted into the Queensland University of Technology’s Bachelor Fine Arts Film and Television degree, which he graduated from in 2007.

Michael quickly established himself as a freelance director, producer, writer and editor of corporate videos, web documentaries and television commercials, finding great success in the local industry. Michael has produced an impressive body of work directing pieces for the State Library of Queensland, Queensland Rail, Energex, Xstrata, Tourism Queensland, Flight Centre, Boystown, Griffith University, QUT, USQ, Metro South TAFE, Motorama Holden & Toyota to name just a few.

Michael’s true passion is for cinema. A lover of movies big and small, all of Michael’s work in the commercial world has been in support of his own ambitious productions, from his short comedy, The Unicycle Diaries to the award winning comedy/thriller The Dossier Case and the new monster film Break The Rock , the trailer for which has now won numerous awards on the international festival circuit. Michael’s infectious passion for film and ambition to create fun, entertaining cinema fuels everything he does as he works to bring his first feature film, the sci-fi mindbender Space/Time to life.
